NOTE: The above carrier ratings are based on hundreds of shipments with the above listed carriers. The on time rating, services offered rating and damage claim ratings are scored on a 10 scale, with 10 being the highest rating. This information was gathered by reports from our customers collected over a long period of time. Some carriers are new to this system so the ratings may be lower on the newer carriers as they are weighted so as not to give them an unfairly high rating. The top three rated carriers have their names in italics. This page will be updated, usually on a monthly basis if any of the above information changes significantly on any carrier. Vending World does not endorse of recommend any of the above carriers over another. Please use this page for information purposes only and make up your own mind as to the carrier that you choose to ship your freight. These statistics are based on our experiences with these carriers only and do not necessarily represent the actual statistics of the companies as a whole on a national basis. Choose your carrier well. Our highest rated carriers (top 3) had minor damage claims in less than 3.2% of all freight moved for our customers. The lowest rated carriers (bottom 2) had minor damage claims at about 9.6% of all freight moved. Please remember than shipping is arranged as a courtesy and that if your item arrives with minor damage you are required to accept delivery and file a freight claim with the carrier. We have found that Saia and USF Reddaway have consistently denied almost all damage claims filed against them when damages occur. Please take this into consideration when choosing a carrier. Some of the carriers on our site that say use at your own risk offer the highest discounted freight rates, with these highly discounted rates comes a certain amount of risk. Should you book freight with any of the carriers listed on our site that say use at your own risk then you must accept the freight regardless of the amount of damage (you cannot refuse the freight) and deal with that freight company directly to file a claim.
On time rating is based on how close the shipment delivered compared to the posted delivery time
Damage claim rating is based on the percentage of claims filed with the carrier, the more claims the lower the score
Pay claim rating is based on how well or how quickly the carrier pay claims when filed for damage.
Services represents the extra services provided by the carrier, such as lift gate, inside delivery and how fast they pay claims. These ratings are usually updated at least once a month based on shipments.
PLEASE NOTE: Companies that reclassify our shipments will receive the lowest ratings on the reclass category. Vending World receives quotes for our shipments on class 85, based on dimensional size and pounds per cubic foot. Some carriers in an effort to gain more revenue have begun to reclassify our freight and by doing so we lose money on the freight charges. When this happens those carriers will immediately drop to the bottom of our rating list due to receiving a 1.0 on the reclass section. When this happens their maximum discount will not longer apply on the quoting system as we cannot trust their quotes due to the fact that there might be a reclass. Any carriers that have reclassed our shipments will basically be quoted at class 125 in our system, as opposed to all other carriers being quoted at class 85. Vending World books freight basically as a courtesy so we cannot afford to lose money on shipping charges due to carriers that try to 'raise their bottom line profits' at our expense.
Pay claim rating is based on how well or how quickly the carrier pay claims when filed for damage.
Interline represents the carrier handing the shipment off to another trucking company for final delivery at destination
* Companies listed with asterisk have either not paid claims most of the time or have reduced the value of the freight to 10 cents per pound. Use with caution.
